Air Conditioning
Of course, the first item on your checklist should be to check your air conditioner. You haven’t used it in a long time, and if it’s broken or malfunctioning, you’ll want to get it mended as soon as possible. The unit is simple to diagnose, but due to the system’s complexity, repairs are best left to a professional or mechanic.
Change Your Oil
You probably heard it from your father a long time ago, and it still holds now as it did for his 1975 Buick wagon: change your motor oil regularly. It’s even more true now than it was back then. If you’re still using traditional oil, a 5,000-mile interval between changes is sufficient, whereas synthetic oil can be changed every 7,500 miles or more.
Always refer to your owner’s manual for advice on oil brand and weight, and oil change intervals. Some automobile engines incorporate anti-corrosion agents, friction modifiers, gasket conditioners, and other additives in unique motor oil compositions. Using a different type of oil can result in long-term damage.
Check the Air pressure.
The outdoor temperature might affect your tire pressure as it changes throughout the year. Check the air pressure in your tires to make sure everything is in working order, and don’t forget to bring your spare tires.
Check the sidewall of your tires and your owner’s handbook if you’re not sure what PSI your tires should have. Low tire pressure can result in dangerous driving situations and uneven tire wear.
