Mondays and Tuesdays
You may or may not be surprised to hear that gas stations typically aren’t very busy on Mondays and Tuesdays compared to the rest of the week. Fridays through Sundays are often very busy days for drivers. This is due to people getting done with work for the week and wishing to spend time running errands or doing something fun with the family. Wednesdays and Thursdays aren’t necessarily busy but these days likely won’t have better prices than Mondays or Tuesdays. Therefore, we recommend filling up on Monday or Tuesday and topping off Wednesday or Thursday if needed.
Early Morning or Late at Night
Secondly, you should plan the time of day you fill up. Those that commute early in the morning are encouraged to fill up before work or school as roads aren’t busy and the gas station likely didn’t yet update their prices for rush hour.
